Modesty and being the most beautiful dog I've ever seen are my 2 best assets. 🧚🧜🦄
Hi friends 💓 Human speaking here. I just wanted to let you in on something that's been going on here. I needed some time to process it, but I feel like honesty is the best policy ... So here it goes... You may have seen that on Christmas day @cupidkardoggian was at the emergency vet at @amcny with what I thought was kennel cough (tg we don't celebrate Christmas!). As it turns out, it was sadly not that at all, but early stage congestive heart failure. Cupid has had a grade 2 murmur for about 6 months and it has been monitored through regular echocardiograms and required no medicine, but it very suddenly escalated to grade 5 after he suffered a particular kind of rupture that quickly caused fluid to build up, in turn causing his cough. It's a huge shock, and while he's a living being and not a statistic, the general life expectancy for a dog in his condition is 9-12 months. I'm utterly heartbroken. Devastated. And probably in some level of denial. But I'm committed to giving Cupid the absolute best care, most snuggles and overwhelming amounts of kisses possible with whatever time we have left. And when he tells me it's too much... Well... I'll have to listen to him. Thankfully, for right now, the meds have completely restored him to his normal state - no coughing, lots of chewing on bully sticks (which he's doing as I write this), and lots of snuggling. Some may say that this is why they don't adopt seniors, but I'd respond by saying "What human who loves their dog wouldn't give anything for more time with them, whether they have been together 1 day or 10000000 days? I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as enough time with those we love so much." Thank you in advance for your support and kind words during this time. I'll continue to keep you posted as needed, but for now we are just going to live life and enjoy whatever time we have to the fullest 💓
Your #favorite post of this year is a perfect reminder that looks may change, but being bad ass is forever. Thanks for all the love in 2017! Here's to more good times in 2018 💓 ・・・ EYE UPDATE!! PLEASE READ!! Thanks to all who have reached out with concern about my eye. Rest assured that I'm in the care of the best ophthalmologist in NYC at @amcny (the Mayo clinic for animals) and even went for an unnecessary check up yesterday just to make extra sure I'm ok. My eye is fully recovered and while you may be concerned with the way it looks, I'm in absolutely NO PAIN. Please know that my human would never allow me to go without medical care or live in pain and the constant insistence that I'm suffering is very painful to us. So much so that we went to the doctor and paid to see a specialist again just to be extra safe.
I've been looking back at my favorite posts of 2017 and attending the #puppybowl was a HUGE highlight 🏈 Think you'll be seeing me there again in 2018???? 😘 #throwbackthursday #tbt #Thursday #siblings #dogs #teamruff #teamfluff #animalplanet #dogbowl #2017 #dog #dogs #puppy #pups #puppies #superbowl #bestof2017 #bestof #lookingback #memories #fun #yellow #green #Chihuahua #rescue #rescued #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #mutt #muttsofinstagram
It's my 4th #gotchaday and this was me exactly 4 years ago! The best way to celebrate would be to adopt a dog of your very own, dontcha think?! Check out just a few adoptables here (all pix tagged with where to rescue them) and look at your local animal shelters/rescues for your very own new family member this holiday season. In 4 years I've been in 2 books, appeared on national TV 3 times, raised over 10k for fospice dogs and helped many dogs find new homes (all while looking flawless, of course). Imagine what you could do with your new family member!!!
